The Mara's

Postby Razorwalker » January 21st, 2014, 11:57 am

OK, this is a work in progress, so there will be additions and changes as more ideas/backstory come to me. Please forgive the writing or it's style, I am not that good of a writer (or speller :P). I hope that you enjoy :)

Mara Razorwalker

Postby Razorwalker » January 21st, 2014, 11:58 am

Mara Razorwalker is a defector from the Mirror Universe. In 2375, while being held captive on DS9 by Intendant Kira Nerys, Mara stole one of the prototype Multidimensional Transporter devices to free herself and transported to the Prime Universe where she surrendered to Captain Sisko. Based on his recommendation, Mara was granted citizenship into the UFP and was allowed to attend Starfleet Academy. Mara excelled at her studies and graduated at the top of her class. She quickly rose through the ranks and now commands the respect of many in and out of Starfleet.

Mara was born in 2359 in captivity on DS9 to Richard & Celeste Razorwalker, also slaves to the Alliance. Both her parents were executed for being rebels in 2374, which prompted Mara to start planning her escape. Noticing that the Intendant had a thing for Human and Trill females, Mara made herself visible to the Intendant. Kira liked to brag about how advanced the Alliance was, and that is how Mara was able to learn of the Multidimensional Transporter. With the help of Ezri Tigan, Kira's Trill mercenary, Mara was able to steal one of the prototypes and escape unnoticed.

Most recently, on Stardate 91182.20, Mara was captured and assimilated by the Borg at the Battle of Starbase 82.

Mara is the leader of the Elite Crimson Phoenix Squadron, providing advanced intelligence data to The Phoenix Division on enemy movements and daring rescues of captured individuals assimilated by the Borg.

Ever since crossing over into the Prime Universe, Mara has been on the search for her Prime self, wondering what life she would have had in difference circumstances. Until recently, when captured and assimilated by the Borg, Mara thought she might never know. While connected to the Borg Collective, Mara was able to learn that the Prime Universe Mara Razorwalker was also captured, but by the Borg, during the attack on Jouret IV in 2366. Prime Mara was a drone. When freed from the collective, Mara made it her duty to find and free the Prime Mara from the collective and give her her life back. In 2409, Prime Mara was found on Defara, badly injured and severed from the Collective. After spending many months on Facility 4208, Mara of Borg was allowed to attend Starfleet Academy and join Admiral Razorwalker in both the Phoenix Division and the Elite Crimson Phoenix Squadron.

Having learned that not only the Mirror Universe, but also Prime Universe versions of herself ended up in captivity has had a profound effect on both Mara's, more so for Mara. She has redoubled her efforts to free as many people she can from the Borg and else where where there is slavery, even at times violating Starfleet Command orders and once, the Prime Directive on a remote, pre-warp civilization.

Mara of Borg

Postby Razorwalker » January 21st, 2014, 12:18 pm

Mara of Borg, formally known as Mara Razorwalker (Prime Universe), was born on Earth, circa 2359, to father Richard Razorwalker and mother Celeste Razorwalker. Both were Xenobiologists, and in 2362, moved to the New Providence Colony on Jourat IV to conduct research. On Stardate 43989.1 (2366), Jouret IV was attacked and completely destroyed by the Borg. Most of the colonist on the planet lost their lives and the survivors were taken to be assimilated into the Collective. Mara was one of the survivors of this attack. However, the Borg did not immediately assimilated Mara, the exact reasons are unknown, but it is speculated that the Borg choose to instead study and observe Mara as a young child, waiting until she became older to assimilate her. When Mara reached approximately 16 years of age, the Borg assimilated her into the collective, but allowed her to retain her designation of Mara. Thus, she became known as Mara of Borg. By this time, having been raised, in essence, by the Borg since she was 7 years old, Mara had already begun to show a single conscious thought pattern with the collective, even though she was not yet assimilated.

In 2409, Admiral Mara Razorwalker (Mirror Universe) was attempting to rescue Admiral Myka Karrde from the Collective, and herself along with her crew were also assimilated. During her brief stint as a drone, Admiral Razorwalker touched thoughts with Mara of Borg. Having escaped the Mirror Universe at a young age, Admiral Razorwalker knew that someday she might encounter her Prime Universe self. However, she never expected to encounter Prime Mara as a drone. When freed from the Collective, Admiral Razorwalker made it her sole mission to track down and find Mara of Borg and free her from the Collective. And, 6 months later, she did. While engaging the Borg in the Orlleius Sector, on the planet Defara, Admiral Razorwalker found Mara of Borg, badly wounded and severed from the Collective. She was immediately beamed aboard the Admiral's flagship and received medical treatment and removal of most of her Borg Implants. Upon Admiral Razorwalker reporting these findings to Starfleet Command, Admiral Razorwalker was ordered to take Mara of Borg to Facility 4208 for Re Indoctrination and physiological review. After 6 months, upon the recommendations of Admirals Razorwalker and Karrde, Mara of Borg was allowed to enter Starfleet Academy.

Starfleet Command, in agreement with Section 31, allowed Mara of Borg to retain her link to the Collective, even though it appears to be severed at the Collective and not in Mara herself. It is thought that with the training she has received and with the help of others, Mara will be able to resist the Collective if the link is ever reestablished and would then be able to provide Starfleet Intelligence vital information into Borg fleet movements, technology and future attacks. The risks of such a move have been carefully considered and such extreme action was deemed necessary in light of the recent finding off the Dyson Sphere in the Delta Quadrant, which is also home to the Borg; increased Borg activity on all fronts and a new report by Admiral Chakotay, suggesting that they may be infiltration of Starfleet by Species 8472/Undine. With so many threats on the horizon for the Federation, any and all measures are being considered and taken to ensure the Federations survival.
