I just learned of a chat channel where STO players can ask for invites to fleet holdings, Tuffli freighters, etc, to get fleet items and discounted commodities that are otherwise unavailable for them.

The benefit of this is it allows players to obtain fleet gear their fleet has not yet unlocked. Even better, this uses up the player's fleet's provisions rather than the provisions from the fleet owning the higher-tier starbase. This does not, however, work with fleet ships. You need to be an actual member of a fleet to get access to the ships.

These are some open cross-fleet channels (2 at the time of this post) that might come in handy:

NoP Public Service- Nerds of Prey are a classy bunch. This channel can be helpful when you need something your own fleet hasn't unlocked yet. Simply post your request- someone usually gets to it.

Klingons United- Having trouble getting a KDF-side team together? This channel allows you to put in for help from fellow adversaries of the mewling, pusillanimous scum of the Federation. *ahem* Helpful bunch, and sometimes it's hard to find a third for your Defera run...
